For families
livecomics.to (livecomics.to) is operated by SMOOBY LLC. This page explains, for parents, guardians and readers, how we handle comics that are not suitable for children.
What livecomics.to is
livecomics.to is a comic reader. It shows a comic one panel at a time, in reading order, and reads the speech balloons aloud with voices, sound effects and background sound. Readers can import comic files they own into a private library, and can read a free catalog of public-domain and openly licensed comics.
Which comics are rated Mature
A person on our team gives each title in the catalog an age rating. Titles rated Mature contain things like horror, violence, death, frightening images or graphic medical scenes. Today that includes the classic American horror, crime, war and science-fiction comics from before 1968 and a medical drama manga with surgery scenes. Mature titles carry a "Mature" label on their page and in the reader.
In Brazil: Mature titles are hidden for readers under 18
Under Brazil's law on the protection of children and adolescents in digital environments (the ECA Digital, Lei 15.211/2025), when you use livecomics.to from Brazil, Mature titles are hidden by default. They do not appear in the catalog, in search, on series pages or in "Continue reading", and they cannot be opened, until an adult confirms their age.
- A visitor who is not signed in counts as a reader whose age we do not know, so Mature titles stay hidden.
- A signed-in reader who has not confirmed being 18 or older sees the notice "Some titles are hidden" on the catalog, and Mature titles stay hidden.
- Everything else works as usual: all-ages titles, and the reader's own imported comics.
How the 18+ confirmation works
The confirmation is a statement by the account holder. A signed-in reader in Brazil can press I'm 18 or older on the catalog notice. We keep that statement, with its date, on the account, and from then on that account sees Mature titles. It applies only to that account, not to the device or to other people. Please do not confirm on behalf of a child, and do not share an adult account with a child.
To take the confirmation back (for example, if a child used an adult's account), write to [email protected] from the account's email address and we will remove it.
Comics a reader imports
Comics a reader imports are private to their own library and are not rated by us. Our Terms forbid importing content you do not have the right to use, and illegal content. A parent who shares a device with a child should keep an eye on the child's own library.
Tips for parents
- Use the device's own parental controls and age settings (the App Store and Google Play offer them).
- Keep your own account signed out on a device a child uses, or give the child their own account and do not confirm 18+ on it.
- Our Terms require readers to be at least 13 years old, and at least 18 (or to have a parent's permission) to buy anything.
Report a problem
If you see a comic that should be rated Mature and is not, content that is harmful to children, or anything else that worries you, write to [email protected]. Tell us the title (or its link) and what you saw. We read every report.
