Privacy Policy

livecomics.to (livecomics.to), operated by SMOOBY LLC, turns comic books into narrated, panel-by-panel reading experiences. This policy describes what information we collect, how we use it, who we share it with and how, and how we protect it.

Information we collect

• Account information. Your email address and a password (stored only as a secure hash — we never store your password in plain text).
• Content you upload. Comic archives you import are processed into page images, machine-generated transcripts, and generated narration/sound audio, which are stored in our cloud so your library works across devices.
• Usage and billing records. Pages processed, features used, reading progress, app settings you sync, your credit balance, and a ledger of credit grants and charges.
• Payment information. Payments are handled by Stripe. We never see or store your full card number — we keep only a Stripe customer reference and transaction metadata (amount, date, status).
• Technical logs. Standard server logs (such as IP address and browser type) used for security, debugging, and abuse prevention.
• On-device storage. The app caches pages, audio, and settings in your browser's local storage so playback is fast and works offline. We use cookies/local storage only to keep you signed in and run the app — no advertising trackers.

How we use it

• To operate the service: decode your uploads, run transcription and narration, and stream the results back to you.
• To manage your account, credits, subscriptions, and purchases.
• To respond to support requests.
• To keep the service secure and prevent fraud and abuse.
• To improve the service using aggregate, de-identified usage patterns.

We do not sell your personal information, and we don't share it with advertisers or ad networks.

Who we share it with, and how

We disclose information only to the service providers needed to run livecomics.to, always over encrypted (HTTPS/TLS) connections, and only the minimum required:

• Cloudflare — hosts our application and stores your library data (page images, audio, and metadata) in its cloud infrastructure.
• OpenRouter and ElevenLabs — comic page images and text are transmitted via secure API solely to generate transcription, narration, and sound effects for you. These providers process that content under their own terms.
• Stripe — processes payments and stores your payment details under its own privacy policy.
• Legal requirements — we may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, or to protect the rights and safety of users and the service.

Security

• All data in transit is encrypted with TLS (HTTPS).
• API keys and credentials are held server-side and never exposed to your browser.
• Passwords are stored only as salted hashes.
• Card processing is handled entirely by Stripe, a PCI-DSS-compliant processor.
• Shared, de-identified audio caching contains no personal information.

Retention and deletion

Your content stays in your library until you delete it or close your account. You can delete individual comics in the app at any time. To delete your account and associated personal data, contact us via the support page. De-identified generated audio may persist in our shared cache; it contains no personal data and is not linked to you.

Your rights

You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal information at any time via the support page. Depending on where you live (for example the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional rights under local law, and we will honor valid requests.

Children

livecomics.to is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has created an account, contact us and we will delete it.

Changes to this policy

If we make material changes, we will update this page and its effective date. Continued use of the service after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
